To us, Halloween means three things: Jack-o-lanterns, costumes, and candy. I don’t know if it’s a California thing or if it’s everywhere nowadays, but a high percentage of houses in our neighborhood here are, each year, elaborately decorated for Halloween! Darn, I should’ve taken pictures to illustrate my point. The enthusiasm for this holiday goes beyond spider webs and pumpkins and scary characters posed on porches–I’m talking skeletons coming out of the grass, lights everywhere, tombstones, artificial bloodied body parts, giant inflatable grim reapers and scary clowns, caution tape…Caleb and I agree that there is more effort put into more houses decorating for Halloween than Christmas in our neighborhood. Is this a trend in your part of the world?
Anyway, we carved pumpkins and roasted seeds as always:
And, a new fun part of Halloween this year: dressing up Cody! If this isn’t just the cutest little thing you’ve ever seen:
We were planning on dressing him up for our own amusement and maybe bringing him to the door to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, but then we got invited to a get together at some church friends’ house. The upside was more people got to exclaim over the cuteness, and we had fun, the downside was I was only able to snap a couple quick photos on the changing pad here, instead of launching a full photo shoot like I’d hoped. Also it was raining outside so that limits photo options.
Anyway, hope you all had a fun time!
