28 Years and 10 Months

We had a couple family milestones this weekend!  First, Cody is now ten months!  We saw a lot of development this month, both physically with the assisted walking and two front teeth, and cognitively, as Cody definitely shows more attention to detail; studying objects closely, pointing to things in books(not when we say, “where is bear?” or anything, just pointing, and we name the object), and even trying to return objects to their place.  This morning, Cody placed our Tuppertoys Mrs. Noah back in her seat on the ark (basically putting a cylinder in a cylinder) and I was so proud.  Cody also now intentionally, definitely, occasionally, says “uh-oh” when he drops something.

I also celebrated my long-awaited “golden birthday”, a tradition apparently not familiar to many people.  Your golden birthday is when your age is the same as the day of your birthdate, i.e. birthday of June 28, 28th birthday is golden.  Anyway, I had a lot of nice gifts and sentiments sent my way, and had some friends over for bbq, fruit pizza, and porch hanging.  Very nice.

  1. That looks like a delicious fruit pizza, Tara!!! Also, I do believe Cody is getting cuter by the month 😉 I always look forward to your posts, and I hope and pray that your housework is speedy and efficient this week!

    Love,
    Aunt Julie

    Great pics!!

Happy Birthday yesterday, Therese!  Susie, Mike and Dony were here and after they all went home, Robin called and talked for 3 hours so, of course, it was too late to Skype.  I believe you would have been preoccupied anyway.  I hope you received your b.d. card on time.

Your pictures are always so good and little doll is getting cuter with every one.  I was surprised he had two teeth.  He is so advanced for his age, I think.  Thank you for posting the pics on your blog.

It looks like you were having a fun party and the fruit pizza was so inviting.  Did you make it?  I suppose it was a cookie base and was it frosted with cream cheese?

I hope you had a wonderful day.  I can’t believe you are 28 already; seems you should still be a little girl!  I guess you know you are making me older too.  lol Lots of love, Grandma Dee

  4. We had that Noah’s Ark. It is presently packed away in a box in the basement. Maybe someday we’ll be able to unpack! Great pictures!

  5. Happy golden birthday, Tara!! Looks like you had a special breakfast too, yum! Fruit pizza is a special treat in Greg’s family. I should make him a fruit pizza for his “cake” this year too–though we will be on vacation then, so maybe after we get back. He would love it anytime. 🙂

Cody is looking very cute, as always!! 😀

    • Thank you! Yes, Caleb is now quite the aficionado of “Uncle TR’s Beer Waffles” and he likes to make them on the weekends. Fruit pizza is so delicious, and it feels healthier than cake, even though it’s basically eating a giant sugar cookie with cream cheese and fruit on top. Enjoy your big special vacation!!

I can’t wait to see Cody in person this summer!!! He seems to be looking more and more like a full grown human. Of course, he does still have a while to go. 🙂 Happy Birthday to you Tara!

    • Thanks, Amanda! Yes, I look at Cody all the time and think “he’s not a baby anymore; he looks so much like a little boy!”
