A Colorado 4th
This year we ended up going to Colorado on a spur of the moment trip for the long 4th of July weekend. Well, I consider making the decision a only week or so in advance “spur of the moment”.
Ok, this is a random picture from before the trip–Cody built this tower all by himself and I was surprised and proud!
My mom specially bought a new tire for their wheelbarrow so Cody could enjoy a ride–a traditional family fun activity
He liked it
We had some of Grandpa’s yummy spaghetti
Those orange stains really make your eyes pop, Cody!
Last year’s spaghetti face 🙂 for a fun comparison
Post-spaghetti dinner bath.
So cute in the big fluffy white towel
Long caption alert: my mom made homemade strawberry shortcake for 4th of July dinner, and her art director lent me this great book called Plate to Pixel about food photography and I read it while I was there so wanted to try out what I’d learned!
Even when he’s not cooperating he’s still so cute 🙂
When it comes to photo backgrounds, Pikes Peak is tough to beat!!
These attempts were short-lived but well enjoyed by the two-legged subject of this photo
Cody in the wild–he loves being outside, like most kids I suppose.
But once you set this boy free….
He does not want to be captured and photographed. How’s this for a candid expression? ha ha.
Cody pondering the sensation of rubbing a pebble on his chin…
Sometimes you have to ditch the concept of “everyone look at the camera and smile”. Cody says clearly what’s really important in this photo are the small rocks we’re holding. 🙂
Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!
